Frequently Asked Questions

  • Our experience shows that most people have worked through the online material and filled out Worksheets within 14-20 hours of study.  However, this can vary a good deal depending on familiarity with the material covered.  The good thing is that you can work at your own rate and you choose the days/evenings to spend time on each module.

  • Feedback form previous participants highlights the huge value of the coaching sessions.  The new “customised” tools and techniques introduced in the Module material is “personalised” when applied to the starting you had when you joined the course. The whole aim of the course is to take your starting idea and turn it into a viable startup venture.

The coaching courses are where you work in detail with your coach to relate the tools you’ve learnt to the individual idea you have started with.  And what we often find is that, in the light iof new evidence we have found using the tools you have learnt, we need to “iterate” (make small changes) our initial starting ideas or, from time to time, we need to “pivot” (make large changes) to the idea we started with.  This is huge – if we’ve found out that original idea just won’t work, it’s best we’ve found this out before we’ve spent too much time, effort and money pursuing a dead-end.  Sadly over 90% of startups fail because they don’t know hope to find a validated business model.

  • Yes – the whole premise behind our programme is that you are really keen and eager to explore an idea that are keen on and you think can become new business enterprise.  The idea you started with anchors the programme for you (of course, the idea may evolve as we work through the programme).

Our programme doesn’t have any pre-course “brainstorming” or :”ideation” components to try and find an idea participants might like. You briong your own idea and a passion to make it happen. The programme will work with you to turn this into a reality.

  • Our coaches are fully professional and never disclose any participants idea with others.

Often in small groups people find that can have very effective conversations by sharing the general area they are interested in setting up their startup, without in any way diluting any unique aspects of what they planning to do.

  • Once you have developed a Business Model for setting up our new enterprise that is viable and sustainable, you will have come a huge distance toward launching your startup business.  Our coaches specialise in getting you to this point.  When you do launch your business, you may still seek further guidance from our team (which we are pleased t offer ) or from our wider mentoring networks (such as Business Mentors NZ).

At times, participants ask their coach to carry on guiding them (they make their own commercial arrangements) but another option to engage a Mentor using the Business Mentors New Zealand (BMNZ) scheme – for a very modest fee ($295+GST), BMNZ find a suitable mentor for your stage and type of business for a year.

Of course, you may feel you are all set just to “go for it” yourself!
